Footwear
Fashion footwear comprises of garments worn on the feet as a protection against the environment, and of course as an adornment.
While socks and other hosiery are worn between the feet and the footwear, the sandals and flip flops or thongs on top of the socks.
Some footwear is also associated with fetishism, as is seen in some recent fashions in boots and shoes.
Some of the oldest known footwear was found during excavation in Fort Rock Cave in the U.S. state of Oregon. Test on the footwear by scientists revealesd that these sandals were woven from sagebrush bark and about 10,000 years ago.
History aside, todays footwear can be made from a large number of materials including leather, plastic, rubber, textiles, wood, jute, metal.
These materials in turn could be joined together and comprise several components including adhesives, air cushions, buckles, counterforts, eyelets, heels, hooks, insoles. Fashion footwear and
shoes around the world come in many different types such as footwear boots, shoes, sandals, indoor footwear, specific footwear, socks, traditional footwear, etc.
